Don’t know where to look for the best cross stitching tips and tricks, or stuck for inspiration and looking for a free pattern to try out? Here at CraftiHub we’re going to bring you four great online resources for cross stitching.
You’ve probably heard about About.com, but have you checked out their cross stitching page? It’s a great page full of information about cross stitching basics, materials, and tips. You can search through the well labelled sections, or find what you’re looking for by using the search box, either way, you’re bound to find something useful. About.com’s cross stitch page is like the Wikipedia of cross stitching.
Mochimochi Land is part blog, part shop, and part knitting and cross stitching resource. Their How-To: Cross Stitch Basics is excellent, illustrated with bright and understandable photographs. Once you’ve learned the basics you can go on to the Mochimochi Land shop, where you’ll be sure to fall in love with the colourful patterns available.
Carousel Charts is a cross stitch chart designer, but their how-to’s are excellent. With information about whether cross stitching is right for you, to the more advanced steps of how to change colours and skin tones there is something there for beginners to more advanced stitchers, and they also have free charts available to download.
Cross-Stitching.com is the website of Immediate Media Co.’s cross stitching magazines Cross Stitch Crazy, The World of Cross Stitching, Cross Stitch Gold and Cross Stitch Card Shop. Cross-Stitching.com has fantastic how-to’s and new free patterns every month, as well as that there’s a great community in the online forum, where you can show off your work, ask for help, or just have a nice chat.
