New Snowman amigurumi pattern arrives from DMC just in time for winter
DMC have released a new amigurumi pattern for Christmas, the Snowman, Snowdog and Billy from the children’s classic The Snowman by Raymond Briggs and its film sequel, The Snowman and the Snowdog. You can see all three characters below.
Amigurumi is the craft of knitting or crocheting a stuffed toy, the word originates from Japan. With this technique often a smaller gauge crochet hook or pair of knitting needles is used than would usually be used with the weight of yarn to give it a tighter finish, which ensures the stuffing does not escape through the stitches.
These sweet little characters are made using DMC Petra 3 and Pearl Cotton 3. DMC Petra and Pearl Cotton are made using a special manufacturing technique whereby the thread is combed, singed by flame and double mercerised, which give it their softness and strength and ensures whatever you make using them will last.
